I purchased the A26 as a possible upgrade from my raspberry pi with coaxial out, as well as wanting to try a different DAC from my PS audio Stellar Gaincell DAC. I was very happy with the setup, but there was a bit of "harshness" that I couldn't quite describe.

With the A26, the difference was subtle but obvious. If you get my drift. There was definitely an improvement in bass, and overall the sound seems smoother, less fatiguing to listen to. Really happy!

It's early days, but at this stage, fed with Redbook CD and streaming files via USB, the Gustard A26 is absolutely superb. Of particular note are the airiness and transparency, the space around instruments, the micro-detail, timbral colour and bass textures, which are really first-class. Those who follow what I do over at liquidaudio.com.au will know that I'm often unimpressed by affordable new gear. The Gustard A26 is certainly an exception and a superb DAC. Highly recommended!

JUST WOW!!!

Like most of us I was torn between the R26 and the A26 and I am glad I went with A26. I maybe a bit biased as my previous Gustard x16 paired with microRendu delivered a nice foray into Roon/MQA, so continuing with A26 was a relatively easy decision especially after reading some highly positive reviews.

This unit just blew and surpassed all my expectations! I am now nearing 100 hours and this thing just keeps getting better even fresh out of the box was truly pleasing in terms of soundstage but mate it really has opened up since with a restrained brightness and sweat warmth. Floods of detail on tracks I am tuned to, handsomely fast, dynamic and punchier but not in an aggressive manner. My REL sub is loving this fella and the tube preamp is sounding even more heavenly!

I am going to enjoy this unit for a long time to come. It is connected via LAN (cat 6a FTP) with a high end network switch running cat8 cables to the Roon Nuc.
